Recently Vans OTW held a massive event in Berlin during Bread & Butter and invited not only their latest advocates, including Lupe Fiasco, to town, but also Mos Def. They performed on stage in Berlin for hundreds of fans that had to fight to get a ticket for the exciting evening.

After the Duck sneaker, another highlight of the Vans California Fall 2012 collection is once again a model that tries something new (for Vans anyway) on the toe boe. This style remixes the Vans 106 or Chukka Low, splitting the seam right down the centre for something along the lines of a Clarks Desert Trek. Rough out suede makes way for a leather heel patch, done in a contrasting color. Hitting this fall.

One of our favorite new models to come from the burgeoning Vans California collection is this duck-style sneaker. Borrowing line from their popular Chukka Del Barco shoe, this all-new model features “Bean Boot” like lines on the toe along with premium leathers, a rubber rand and waxed laces. Look for these next fall.

Probably Hong Kong’s most prominent streetwear brand, Subcrew, received a great opportunity to work along side Vans with this Alomar shoe from the OTW line. This spicy number comes in a very eye-catching red color fusing together a textured patent leather made to resemble crocodile, horse hair and suede. The tongue and insole features branding from both labels, too. The shoes are set to drop on March 1 at Subcrew and select Vans OTW retailers. (Source: Urbanlook)

Vans Vault keeps it moving forward as far as great sneakers go. The line has been one of the steadiest ones around and as we transition into Spring 2012, we are beginning to see more solid offerings from Vault. This Cuerpo LX is seen here in 2 colors, black and brown, with both being made up of a nicely textured pebbled leather. Look for these to hit Vault retailers around March.

Usually available in canvas, sometimes leather, the Vans Era now sees the utilization of another material in the form of neoprene. These new Eras make use of the fabric commonly used in the creation of wetsuits. Each pair features a two-tone upper with an accenting lining and sole. For only $50, these can be yours today. The Vans Era is one our all-time favorite shoes, so we appreciate the slight twists in material and silhouette Vans likes to throw into the mix. The Wingtip variations have been a long-standing tradition and next fall is no different, with red or black leather on suede make-ups complete with white contrast details and a checkerboard lining. Find these in stores next fall.

Spring 2012 of the Vans OTW Collection presents a trio of updated silhouettes with the Native American Pack. The Bedford and Ludlow come crafted in a combination of premium pull-up leather and heavy washed canvas, while the Alomar makes its mark with an all-leather aesthetic. Each shoe is finished off with antiqued eyelets, laser etched logo details and Native American print canvas linings.

A while ago we gave a first preview of the capsule collection by Vans and The Skateboarder Magazine. Here is now a first look at the two sneakers that will come as part of the collaboration. They chose to work on the Old Skool and the Mid Skool, giving both a vintage blue color upper, yellow accents and of course Skateboarder Magazine branding. Look out for these later this year.
