If you've ever tried to cop a pair of Yeezys, you already know how stress-inducing the process is between the backdooring, ridiculous lineups, online mayhem and raffle anxiety. So when New York-based boutique KITH decided to launch a new method to resolve this all-too-real issue over the weekend, the idea was immediately well-received.
“Today at 4PM EST we'll be releasing the Yeezy 750 Brown via an all-new app called Frenzy. Frenzy was designed to create a level playing field for customers,” KITH announced prior to the hyped release.
More interestingly, though, the app is one of the latest projects from Shopify and was a product of one of its "hack day" periods, a "two day period where everybody in the company takes off from doing what their day-to-day is and can work on a creative project,” as described by Shopify product manager Tucker Schreiber to Complex.
Additionally, he also indicated the app has partners lined up for releases on Black Friday and Cyber Monday - but wasn't able to divulge any further details. Schreiber and his team are currently working to build out the app into a full product.
One of the app's key features is the introduction of a pre-fill option which allows users to input their name, address and payment info before the launch actually happens - so you don't have to spend extra time inputting anything once the countdown ends.
If you're interested in giving Frenzy a try on the next big release date be sure to download it now via the iTunes Store.
