Spring’s a tough season to dress for. You’ve got to curb your enthusiasm for the improved weather because it’s not all plain sailing from here on out. Until summer, you can expect showers, passing clouds, and frustrating meteorological changes.

That’s what makes the transitional wardrobe such a hard one to pin down. There are some shortcuts to success, though. One, in particular, is trusting a handful of tried-and-tested favorites to dress you for the season.

Of course, we will be wearing a wide range of labels this season, but our core pieces are taken care of by five labels. From Jacques Marie Mage’s luxury sunglasses that will anchor all of our fits through to trusty MR P. staples, the five brands below cater to all spring eventualities.

Shop the five brands dominating our fits this spring.

Jacques Marie Mage

Jacques Marie Mage was founded in 2014 but carries itself like a label that has been around forever. The artisanal approach to crafting retro-style sunglasses puts the brand at the forefront of the luxury eyewear game.

Kapital

Kapital represents the best of Japanese clothing right now. The brand's recognizable codes have made it a must-have for contemporary style aficionados: take the smiley face graphics found at the elbows of the cutout T-shirt above or the Americana fonts used on the messenger bag.

MR P.

MR PORTER's in-house label is easily one of the best in the game. The two items above epitomize the brand's close focus on premium materials. The trucker jacket is cut from supple suede while the overshirt — although visually minimal — is built from a super-soft cashmere blend.

Stone Island

Stone Island always makes up a large portion of our wardrobe, but never more so than in spring. The perennial fan-favorite overshirt and garment-dyed tee are nothing new, but they're hard to beat when it comes to the transitional season.

Acne Studios

Acne Studios' fun approach to clothing makes it a prime suspect for spring domination. The electric blue leather tote bag exists to brighten up any outfit, while the burger-centric Enrik T-Shirt is full of life.
