Earlier this year, adidas' performance technology and lifestyle identity met in holy matrimony to give rise to adidas Sportswear.

After dropping in February, fronted by Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, adidas Sportswear was the first new category launch for the German giants in over 50 years — and of course, it took the next generation of style-savvy individuals by storm. With a fashion-forward approach to sporty staples at the core of its identity, adidas Sportswear’s clothing and footwear offer a contemporary spin on some well-known classics (so it’s no surprise that the pieces have been in hot demand as the hype over stylish athleisure grows.) From tracksuits and track tops to jerseys and trainers, adidas Sportswear is really made for exploring the city.

This month sees the label unveil its latest sneaker silhouette, which you might recognize from the brand’s recent archive. Remember the iconic Ultraboost 1.0? Well, adidas Sportswear has put a twist on the all-time classic, giving birth to a brand new silhouette, X_PLRBOOST.

Set to level up comfort, the X_PLRBOOST is a hybrid sneaker, born from adidas’ sport heritage and blended with their running technology. With BOOST known to be one of the most comfortable compounds in the sneaker industry, the X_PLRBOOST follows suit.

Pair the responsive BOOST cushioning with two pieces tactically sandwiched between a TPU midsole frame, and you’ve got yourself a shoe that has you set wherever and whenever you’re on the go. Staple features like the molded heel and soft neoprene collar make an appearance, too, meaning that slipping the shoe on and off couldn’t be easier.

Yes, the trusty BOOST details keep the series at the top of its game, but the X_PLRBOOST goes just that little bit further, taking on a smoother all-around shape — and it’s as satisfying to look at as it is to wear. The combination of textures on the exterior, combined with an engineered mesh, two-tone rubber outsole, and a bright pop of color on the heel, gives the shoe a multi-layered and somewhat futuristic look.

So if you’re meeting friends, running errands, exploring a new city, or just having your casual Sunday stroll, the X_PLRBOOST will add that bit of bounce to your urban adventure.

The shoe will launch worldwide on April 6 in stores and via adidas.com
