Double Tap to Zoom

We’ve seen adidas bring its archive silhouettes back in every possible colorway at this point, but the latest Tokyo has a little something extra going on. Actually, make that a lot of something extra.

Yes, this is the adidas Tokyo, now with double the laces.

This version doubles up on the laces across the upper, giving the sleek silhouette a playful new look. The rich brown colorway keeps things classic, while the layered laces add a little extra personality to one of adidas’ most streamlined sneakers.

It’s a small tweak, but one that completely changes the energy of the shoe. Suddenly, the Tokyo feels less like an archive reissue and more like the kind of sneaker you’d spot on someone who has very strong opinions about their footwear.

Underneath all that lace action is the same slim, low-slung shape that made the Tokyo a ’70s adidas classic. This time, though, it’s less concerned with looking vintage and more interested in having a bit of fun.
