Once people got wind of a potential adidas x JENNIE collaboration, it was safe to say there were very few pessimists. It was always bound to deliver, and deliver it did.
The BLACKPINK star has put her own spin on some of the German sportswear brand’s most recognizable styles, giving the collection a distinctly JENNIE feel without going completely off-piste. Obviously, there’s plenty of classic adidas in there, but with softer colors, cute little details, and a whole lot of JENNIE attitude thrown into the mix. Basically, everything you could want from a fall collab.
We’ve come to expect a lot from adidas’ collaborations at this point. There’s usually a big name attached, someone with enough pop-culture clout to get people talking, and you can almost always count on the three stripes being front and centre. It’s a formula adidas knows well, and, more often than not, it works.
The proof is in the pudding in this case, and with fall rapidly making itself known, we thought it was about time to highlight our favorite pieces to step into the new season on the right foot.
Fleece Hoodie Jacket
If there’s one thing we’re always happy to see come fall, it’s a good fleece. This one from adidas x JENNIE has that slightly oversized, throw-it-on-and-forget-about-it appeal that makes a piece like this so easy to love. The soft beige color only sweetens the deal.
Superstar SQ Ballet Shoes
Of course, the hero of the collection is the squared Superstar. Just when you thought it was as good as it could get, they go and give it the ballet treatment. With its dainty shape and little ballerina details, it’s about as far from your usual Superstar as you can get. Just goes to show, all it takes to reignite the Superstar conversation is, in fact... a superstar.
Pleated Track Pants
The track pants are probably the smartest thing in the collection, and we mean that literally. The pleats give them a proper trouser-like feel, but they still have all the sporty energy you’d expect from a pair of adidas track pants. Basically, smart enough to dress up, sporty enough to not take yourself too seriously.
Fan OG Track Top
The Fan OG track top is a pretty convincing reminder that adidas doesn’t need to overcomplicate things. It’s classic track top territory, but the proportions and little JENNIE touches make it feel a bit less predictable. The sort of thing you could wear with the matching pants, but probably more fun to break up.
Knitted Loose Pants
If the track pants are the smart ones, these are the ones we want to live in. The knitted fabric gives them a softer, more laid-back feel, while the loose shape makes them look like they’ve been borrowed from someone’s wardrobe in the best possible way. Essentially, comfy pants that don’t look like you’ve given up.
