adidas Originals continues to drop quality general release colorways of its iconic ZX line of sneakers. Next up is a blue and pink ZX 8000, and official product shots have leaked online, suggesting the release could be close.

A shiny, synthetic mesh serves as the base of the shoe, with colorful suede panels overlaid and a plastic heel counter — a hallmark of ZX shoes — is also present. The sneaker’s tooling features Torsion technology, which allows both the forefoot and the heel to move independently from one another.

The ZX 8000 will likely retail for $120 and be available directly at adidas, in addition to select retailers worldwide. An exact release date has not been officially communicated yet.

adidas’ ZX line of shoes debuted in the early ’80s and was designed for runners of all types and abilities. The series was led by Jacques Chassaing and Markus Thaler, who structured products into two silos using numbers — similar to New Balance — where specific numbers denoted whether a shoe was meant for training or competition.

In recent years, ZX has bridged the gap between performance and lifestyle, with original models such as the ZX 8000 being re-released alongside newer silhouettes and designs, such as the ZX 4000 4D or the recently-dropped ZX 2k Boost.

Stay tuned for further release information regarding the pink and blue ZX 8000.
