Unpredictable winter weather calls for adaptable clothing, which is precisely what Admiral Sporting Goods Co. and 6876 have to offer with their function-first Fairham Jacket.

You don't need to be up a 1,085-meter peak draped in Arc'teryx, Manastash, Columbia, and Salomon to appreciate the need for functional, adaptable outerwear in the muddle of winter. Wind, rain; will they, won't they? No one likes to get caught in the thick of it without adequate proofing, and sometimes, that means a choice between two alternate pieces of outerwear.

The answer is simple – procure a piece that offers 2-in-1. Conceived and developed as an ode to traditional outerwear and the best of British design, Admiral Sporting Goods Co. and 6876 have come together to deliver the Fairham Jacket.

So what does it offer? The Fairham is an updated take on the classic Car Coat, combining a short, collared raincoat with a button neck flap and zip-off hood. In essence, it's the combination of two sporting classics to form an all-weather, everyday jacket crafted from gaberdine produced by Olmetex Italy.

Speaking on the collaboration, Jonathan Hamburger of Admiral Sporting Goods Co. said: “It is often forgotten that producing clothing is both an art form and a science. This is made clear when you take garments that are over 80 years old and adapt them for modern manufacturing and consumer tastes. 6876 have been doing this for over 20 years and with our mutual love of sport and military history this collaboration was a match made in cotton.”

The jacket is not alone within the collaboration, as it sits alongside a concise lineup of cotton sweatshirts, hoodies, and t-shirts, each arriving in navy and grey.

While the jersey options are currently available to buy, the Fairham jacket is currently on pre-order online, with products beginning to ship from the end of January.
