Amazon is getting ready to launch a new robotic delivery system called Scout, which will see a number of cute, but potentially Black Mirror-worthy autonomous robots rolling around your neighborhood to bring you your last impulse Prime purchase. Take a look at our soon-to-be reality in the video up top.

According to CNBC, Scout is the size of a water cooler and is currently operating in Washington's Snohomish County. Apparently, the tiny metal posties are able to  "safely navigate around pets, pedestrians, and anything else in their path," which is a relief, but to be on the safe side, they will initially be accompanied by a human Amazon employee.

Currently, six Scout units will be operating on weekdays during daylight hours. It's not yet known when Scout will be coming to a sidewalk near you. More information to follow.
