Editor’s Notes: From the GEL-Quantum and GEL-Nandi 360 to the unforgettable GEL-Chappal (you’ll remember them), ASICS and GmbH are no strangers to a collaboration or two.

In fact, Kiko Kostadinov aside, GmbH has been ASICS’ most prolific partner over the past five years. And now, to honor the pair’s ongoing collaborative relationship, they’ve reunited to drop two takes of its new GEL-Kayano Legacy.

Initially presented during GmbH’s Fall/Winter 2023 runway show in Paris earlier this year, the sneakers arrive in both “Coriander Green/Gold” and a more subtle “Grey/Black,” and come equipped with everything we’ve come to expect from ASICS: a retro-inspired aesthetic that finds the balance between dad shoe and Y2K runner.

When it comes to branding, things are kept typically sparse aside from an ASICS motif on the outside of the sneaker, with only insole logos and a co-branded stamp on the tongue for company.

The shoe is part of the Japanese brand's celebrations as the GEL-KAYANO series hits its 30th anniversary. The new model is a mishmash of GEL-KAYANO's from years gone by, brought together into one sneaker for its birthday.

Releasing on September 21, ASICS has spoiled us for collaborations of late and this is another one for the books.
