Editor's Notes: Congratulations are in order, as ASICS' GEL-KAYANO series has reached a considerable milestone. This year marks its 30th in business and it's celebrating the way it knows best — with new renditions of the sneaker.

Throughout this year, the brand is releasing new GEL-KAYANO models to honor the occasion and the latest is the GEL-KAYANO LEGACY, which can be seen below worn by creatives from around the world.

Picking and choosing the best bits from variations of the shoe released over the past 30 years, this sneaker puts them all together into one model, starting with the GEL-KAYANO 14 as the base.

Arriving in two colorways inspired by the archives, a classic all-silver version and one that represents iconic colorways from the GEL-KAYANO archive, the shoe tells a big portion of ASICS history through the medium of sneaker.

The brand was founded in 1949 to create athletic footwear and it wasn't until 1993 that the GEL-KAYANO was released, designed by the now-legendary Toshikazu Kayano.

Initially an Industrial designer, he was looking to create a new type of running shoe and was inspired by the humble stag beetle to create something with more stability. The resulting shoe was an instant success and the series has continued to produce top-level runners ever since.

Now also bringing highly popular lifestyle variations into the mix, such as its JJJJound collab or the upcoming one with Berlin-based GmbH, here's to many more years for the GEL-KAYANO.
