Editor’s Notes: Thierry Tek and Ste Wing — the guys behind creative agency and brand consultancy Visionarism — went all in with this collaboration with ASICSTIGER, venturing across Japan from the nation's mega-capital, Tokyo, to the home of ASICSTIGER itself in the southern city of Kobe to create their own ASICSTIGER sneakers. Two variants of the ASICSTIGER HyperGEL-LYTE worked in simple monochrome colorways — one white, one black — rest on AISCS's trademark GEL sole unit, with the primarily white sole unit's GEL beads dotted in black speaking to shūji, or the ancient art of Japanese calligraphy. Finally, the HyperGEL-KAN mesh and suede upper, with its signature sock-liner, is completely blacked out and rests on Visionarism and ASICSTIGER's black and white sole unit. Check out the story of the collaboration — and the lookbook video shot in Tokyo — above.
