Highsnobiety

Have you ever seen an Angora goat? No? Well, the coat of this shaggy goat, which mostly resides in China, is so majestic that it’s no surprise mohair has become one of the most highly sought-after fabrics in recent seasons.

Nicknamed the "diamond fabric," it's a material that has a long history of being worn by music's sartorial stars — think Kurt Cobain’s iconic MTV Unplugged cardigan — and Harry Styles has been continuing that legacy.

We've only got two days until his latest album, Harry's House, drops and, naturally, the British singer has the internet in a chokehold awaiting its release. Adding to the enormous hype caused by its lead single As It Was being collectively stuck in everyone's head, Styles joined Zane Lowe for a conversation about the new record. Sat in front of a picturesque Californian coastline, it was the singer's fuzzy mohair knitwear that once again caught our eye.

The material's fuzzy nature lends itself perfectly to cozy winter outfits. However, because it's a hair and not a wool, the fabric will actually keep you cool in hot temperatures. Enjoying the evening sun, Styles made use of this by wearing a custom light-blue sweater from Ilana Blumberg with a brown house motif on the front in reference to the upcoming album.

Paired with navy blue trousers, pink adidas x Gucci Samba sneakers, and a large bead necklace from éliou, the entire look was a masterclass in colorful spring dressing. Not the first time that the 28-year-old singer has created a storm in fuzzy knitwear (we're still not over his fluffy sheep-print sweater vest at the top of this article), Styles continue to show us that knitwear is for every season.

From Marni's fan-favorite, bold striped mohair to understated excellence from Our Legacy, we have selected some of our favorite fuzzy knitwear to join Styles in his cozy spring styling moment. Check out the selection below.

Cardigans have had a veritable glow up in the past few seasons and creating one in a mohair fabric is bringing together two of our favorite things.

Diamond Cardigan

Three-quarters of this Raf Simons sweater is understated. The final quarter, though, specifically the left arm, is far from it. Oversized polka dots on a yellow backdrop bring the fun — alongside the massive, oversized proportions we associate with Raf's collections.

No other label has co-signed mohair like Marni and over the past few seasons, it has perfected using the material. Stripey sweaters elevated by fuzzy mohair have become a signature of the brand and this lily-white version is calling for spring.

This sweater might be from an Alpaca-blend fabric and not mohair, but the fuzzy fabric combined with the Grandad-style checkered pattern is delivering a similar vibe — right?

Ghosts, "Jesus hates me" prints, sad faces, mushrooms... there's a lot happening on this small, cropped sweater vest. Ashley Williams knows how to make a statement piece and this sweater is one of many examples.

As mohair knitwear goes, I think this is about as summery as it gets. You can match the bright multi-colored gradient print to the sunset on summer evenings.
