In 2022, the watch world crowned Richard Mille for having the thinnest watch in the world, beating out the previous record-holder Bulgari. As of today, Bulgari is back on top.

Bulgari's latest Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC helped the brand reclaim its title. Clocking in at just 1.7mm in thickness (or thinness?), the latest Bulgari Ultra watch is now the world's thinnest watch.

Watch lovers may remember Bulgari's previous Octo Finissimo Ultra from 2022, once the slimmest watch out. At Watches and Wonders in 2022, the piece was quite the well, wonder as it presented a historically 1.8mm slender look.

Richard Mille later beat Bulgari's record with its Ferrari collab, which was just .05mm thinner than Bulgari's watch. In the battle for the skinniest watch, Bulgari and its Ultra win again (and are thin again).

Bulgari's latest Octo Finissimo Ultra is also COSC-certified, meaning it has been deemed accurate and precise by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres. With the certification, Bulgari also takes home another record for the thinnest OSC-certified watch ever.

The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC has some pretty neat features, notably the titanium case. In a press statement, Bulgari reveals that the case has been redone to "optimize" the sapphire crystal, essentially allowing Bulgari to achieve this record-smashing thinness.

The shiny silver is just pleasing to the eyes, too.

As I suspected with a world-record-holding watch, the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC will be a limited edition drop. Bulgari offers the piece in just 20 pieces, each for the smooth price of $529,000.

Bulgari also launched an Octo Finissimo Ultra in platinum. Although it won't be as thin as the COSC-certified watch, the platinum Ultra measures in at 1.8mm, the same thickness as the 2022 Ultra.

The Italian luxury label already has icons like Zendaya and Anne Hathaway as ambassadors and plastered all over its campaigns. Now, it's smashing world records (again).

Bulgari can't stop winning.
