Since Kim Jones was appointed as Creative Director for Dior Men's in March 2018, we've had some great sneaker options on the menswear side.

It was the Converse Chuck Taylor-inspired B23 sneaker in Dior's signature Oblique pattern that initially caused a stir, the B27 came next, and most recently, the label debuted a dad shoe dubbed the B30. Both silhouettes have become incredibly popular, but we've not seen the same output on the womenswear side. Until now, that is.

Dior has debuted the Vibe Sneaker – a womenswear exclusive that reimagines a classic running shoe with "Dior's couture spirit."

The silhouette is shaped like a combination of a chunky dad shoe and a futuristic runner, featuring white mesh and transparent rubber insert across the upper. Arriving in two colorways, a gold and a silver option, the shoe is simple yet maintains the label's luxury cues throughout.

Created by Maria Grazia Chiuri, the shoe sees some of her signature elements, such as the star charm at the back, and is finished off with a 'Christian Dior' signature on the tongue.

As a woman, I've always found it hard to find good sneakers. It is a sentiment many have echoed – especially by those with small feet – and most of us just want the men's shoes but in a wider size run. Plenty of brands have also gone for a "shrink it and pink it" approach, re-imagining pre-existing products and turning them pink, or creating "girly" trainers because they are for girls.

Dior's Vibe sneaker is a breath of fresh air. It is simple, sleek, and an all-around great shoe, and will definitely become an instant favorite for sneakerheads. It has taken inspiration from performance shoes including Asics and New Balance, whilst still maintaining its core DNA. Bravo, Dior.

Retailing at £860, ($1,152) the Dior Vibe is currently available to shop on the label's website. At this rate, I'll be putting a pair of these on my wishlist (alongside a pair of the B23's, which is still one of my all-time favourite silhouettes from the label and thankfully, comes in an inclusive size run).
