Donatella Versace and her daughter, Allegra Versace Beck, have donated €200,000 (approx. $224,000) to Milan's San Raffaele Hospital and its intensive care unit.

In a statement to WWD, Versace showed her appreciation for all the health care professionals helping save lives. "Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by this disease and to all the doctors and medical staff who have been working heroically non-stop in the past weeks in the effort to take care of our loved ones. This is when we, as a society, need to stand together and care for one another."

In the past few days, a number of Italian fashion designers have stepped up to help local hospitals. For example, Sergio Rossi donated €100,000 (approx. $112,000) to Milan's Fatebenefratelli Hospital and pledged to donate all profits made from online sales. The Carla Fendi Foundation, meanwhile, gave the same amount to Rome's Presidio Sanitario Columbus Hospital.
