What We’re Saying: With sandal season upon us, Suicoke has come through with a timely collaboration that allows you to wear Doc Martens all spring and summer. For their first-ever collab, Suicoke and Dr. Martens offer up two sandal styles that draw from staple Suicoke silhouettes, all while utilizing Dr. Martens' iconic leather and Lorsan outsole.
At the core, Dr. Martens x Suicoke blends Suicoke’s adventurous design approach with Dr. Martens' rich history of subcultural heritage. The project centers around the Japanese brand's DEPA and BOAK sandals, as the signature Suicoke footbed is combined with the British label's aforementioned Lorsan outsole.
On the exterior, the collaborative DEPA and BOAK sandals — here referred to as DM DEPA and DM BOAK — are crafted from Dr. Martens' iconic smooth black leather. The shoes are refined with debossed co-branding, a Suicoke branded pull tab on the DEPA, and clip buckles on the DM BOAK. Dr. Martens' familiar heel tab and yellow welt stitching complete each design.
“Dr. Martens and Suicoke share a mutual understanding and unique approach to design that consistently challenges creative development — utilizing only the highest quality materials,” Suicoke said of the collaboration, which launches online through Dr. Martens and at select retailers on March 13.
