The long-rumored The Grateful Dead-inspired Nike SB Dunk Low pack has been teased repeatedly over the past few months. Three colorways — orange, yellow, and green — had previously been unveiled on Instagram. Now, we get an on-foot look at the orange and yellow colorways thanks to renowned leak account Yankee Kicks.
All three colorways feature the same furry makeup, taking inspiration from the psych-rock band’s 1973 album cover History of the Grateful Dead, Volume One (Bear’s Choice), and the stylized dancing bears that graced it.
The sneakers feature a base made of brightly-colored suede and furry fleece, with equally bright and contrasting detailing on the Swoosh and outsole. The Swoosh features a jagged rim, replicating the Bears’ cravats and ragged fur. In keeping with the 420-friendly Dead Head philosophy, Nike SB has included a stash pocket behind the tongue.
