Brand: HYKE x The North Face
Key Pieces: The GORE-TEX Mountain Bolero is perfect for keeping dry while still leaving enough uncovered to change up the fit and produce a nice layering effect.
Editor’s Notes: While GORE-TEX has been dominating all areas of the weatherproofing industry, much of the outerwear we wear to protect us from the wind and rain has not changed, shaped pretty much the same regardless of manufacturer. The North Face's collaboration with HYKE, which utilizes GORE-TEX technology, aims to change that with three distinctly shaped pieces.
The first, the GTX Mountain Bolero (slides 1 & 2), is also the boldest of the three silhouettes, featuring a hood and long-sleeves, which are paired with a crop-top body. The GTX Mountain Coat (slides 3, 4 & 5) is the most traditional of the three, featuring an A-shaped design with a hood and tassels on either sleeve.
Lastly, the GTX Mountain Top (slides 6 & 9) is a pullover-style piece with kangaroo-pockets in the front and tassels on either side.
The pieces come in three different colorways: all-black with hits of white, coyote brown and white accents, and an eye-catching python skin print with black and white detailing.
The collection will release at The North Face Play pop-up store in Tokyo’s Midtown Hibiya on the second floor. The space will open to the public on March 29, however, the collection will only be available from April 7 onward.
Stay tuned for pricing information, which will follow at a later date. Until then, head to the official page for more info.
