Jaden Smith's Chunked-Up New Balance Shoes Wear Their Scuffs Well
It had been a while since we heard from the land of MSFTSrep x New Balance. No worries, though — the pair is making noise again. After launching their cool new model, the New Balance 0.01, in 2023, the duo is back with fresh colorways, including some worn to perfection.
The New Balance 0.01 sneaker — a collaborative model between Jaden Smith's clothing label and New Balance — returns to the scene in nice, simple colorways: black/white and classic New Balance grey.
Don't let the understated exterior fool you. The New Balance 0.01 sneaker is a treasure trove of unique constructions. The black version, for instance, features a blend of buttery and fuzzy suede, while the grey iteration offers a mix of smooth vibes and seemingly sturdy mesh.
The grey MSFTSrep x New Balance sneaker takes its uniqueness a step further, boasting deliberately black scuffs on its thick, cutout sole. Nice.
Jaden continues to keep fans on their toes with exciting New Balance collaborations. After chunky cutout steppers, the musician and designer returned with his New Balance 0.01, a low-top sneaker that balances exaggeration and understated-ness, opposing elements that Smith effortlessly nails with his New Balance shoes.
The New Balance 0.01's upper is reminiscent of court shoes like the New Balance 550, which Jaden frequently co-signs in his eclectic street style. At the same time, the MSFTSrep shoe's chunky base echoes Jaden's previous New Balance shoes, like the Vision Racer (which also had a distinct split-up sole).
Jaden's New Balance 0.01 sneaker first garnered attention at Coachella 2023, where he performed with his sister, Willow Smith. As others gawked at the unforgettable sibling linkup, sneakerheads were locked in Jaden's feet, laced up in these then-mysterious white New Balance sneakers.
Following an initial launch in October 2023, MSFTSrep is dropping off more New Balance 0.01 sneakers in fresh (and wonderfully scuffed) colorways on April 26. For the MSFTS wondering, the thick-soled sneakers will be up for grabs on New Balance's website.
It's never too early to start speculating, so let's hear it: anyone else already imagining what a potential New Balance 0.02 could look like? Or is it just me?
