The First-Ever Jordan 11 Collab Is Kinda Boring. And That's Okay.
COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus’ Fall/Winter 2026 fashion show hid a historic moment. There, on the Paris runway, walked deconstructed brogues with oversized panels of leather hanging from them and bulky black leather boots. As always, they were the work of avant-garde Japanese shoemaker KIDS LOVE GAITE.
But if you hung around till the following day and headed to the COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus showroom, as Highsnobiety did, you'd find a defining moment in sneakerdom: the first-ever Nike Jordan 11 collaboration.
In the Jordan 11’s 30-year history, Nike has heavily guarded this high-top basketball model, refusing to allow any of its many partners to meddle with its form.
Drake is the only one to come close, going as far as to wear samples of an OVO x Jordan 11 collaboration back in 2018 before OVO’s partnership with Jordan brand fizzled out. (A pair of sample OVO Jordan 11s has since been valued at over $100,000.)
With Drake having fumbled his chance, COMME des GARÇONS has swooped in to become the Jordan 11’s first collaborator — although it may not be obvious from a first glance at the CDG x Jordan sneakers.
The CDG Jordan 11’s look like, well, a pair of all-black and all-white Jordan 11s. Only under close examination is the suppleness of the cowhide leather and the tiny COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus branding embossed into the inner heel visible.
CDG’s interventions are minimal to say the least. But that’s no surprise; it’s rare for a COMME des GARÇONS Homme Plus sneaker collaboration to not be monochromatic or subtly branded. A collaborative Jordan 11, on the other hand, isn’t just rare. Up until now, it’s unheard of.
