Dreaming Big With JW Anderson
Ahead of its upcoming Milan Fashion Week show, JW Anderson sent guests "Real Sleep" tees as invites to the presentation.
It speaks volumes on many levels, one being that it's been a busy albeit stellar year for Jonathan Anderson (Challengers costume design, Met Gala, and other things).
Continuing his streak, Anderson returns to Milan Fashion Week to present JW Anderson's Spring/Summer 2025 menswear and women's Resort 2025 pieces.
In Anderson's exploration of slumber and big dreams, JW Anderson answers with massive waffle coats resembling grandma's old knit blankets, silky pillow-like textures, and playfully plush details.
We also received greetings from shiny J-anchor motifs, dramatically raised hems, cartoonish matte super puffers, bunched-up boots, first-ever eyewear, and those "penny loafer bags" that JW fans couldn't wait to see live.
They say a house is not a home. But they never said it can't be a JW Anderson piece. Consider it done, as comfy-looking cardigans and sweater dresses become wearable houses complete with windows and a front door.
Basically, when life gives Anderson lemons, expect him to enlarge, elongate, and exaggerate them through his traditional fun and silly fashion lens.
Again, it's been an action-packed 2024 for Anderson. On top of his regular creative director duties, Anderson juggled those viral "I Told Ya" tees as well as serving up the 2024 Met Gala's best looks.
Not to mention, Anderson managed to squeeze in making fashion memes into stylish reality.
