Today, in Paris, Maison Margiela presented its FW18 womenswear collection in a clean, all-white runway space in the Grand Palais.

The show was impactful to say the least. Compared to anachronistic notes of Dior, and the all-black aesthetics of Saint Laurent, Maison Margiela's most recent collection was futuristic and rejected definition with a heavy focus on color-changing iridescent materials.

Standout looks from the collection included a samurai-style silhouette, an oversized sleeveless cricket jumper, transparent plastic hoods, severed blazers that were cut into asymmetrical polo necks (peep the gallery above to see what we mean), duvet-like arm bands worn at the side, and a range of chunky, hyper-embellished sneakers for footwear.
