Anthony Vaccarello showed his FW18 ready-to-wear collection for Saint Laurent in Paris yesterday. Highlighting the glamor of the esteemed luxury fashion house, the runway was set opposite the Eiffel Tower in the Fontaine Du Trocadero with spotlights flashing from every angle.

For menswear, there were ’70s-style crushed velvet suits, leather outerwear, embroidered jackets, sparkling blazers, and as per usual for Saint Laurent, a very skinny silhouette anchored with a slim pant leg and elegant footwear. However, there were a few deviations with some chunky furry boots and a flash of color from a slim-cut velvet suit in electric blue.

For womenswear, Vaccarello returned to the ’80s with a nearly entirely black collection featuring leg-exposing leather shorts, oversized fur coats, exaggerated shoulder pads, and embellished head wraps.

In other fashion news, Alexander Wang has reinterpreted the adidas tracksuit and it’s a must-cop.
