Editor’s Notes: After teasing what many believed to be a collaborative “Steel Blue” New Balance 992, Ronnie Fieg has now lifted the lid on what Kith and New Balance have planned. The two brands have teamed up for a five-sneaker series that will be released as part of Kith’s Spring 2 collection.

The first two models to be released will be the 992 and a 998, with a 990v2 believed to be part of the pack as well. The final two models have not been revealed just yet, though stay tuned for further updates.

Fieg has revealed that the first drop will take place this weekend, May 23, most likely via Kith.com for a yet-to-be-unveiled price.

Fieg and Kith have worked closely with New Balance over the years — both on collaborative silhouettes and on Kith-exclusive “Kithstrikes” that are only available for a short period of time.

New Balance recently relaunched the 992, which also happened to be the late Steve Jobs’ favorite model by the New England-based sportswear company. WTAPS and Don’t Be Mad have recently collaborated on the model, and a JJJJound collab is expected to follow at some point this year.
