New Balance Made Nice "Birkenstock" Dad Clogs. Now, They're Back
Good news for fans of elderly Birkenstock-coded clogs: New Balance is running back the Rover for the fall season.
In addition to restocking some previous colorways, New Balance will also introduce some fresh flavors like an all-brown pair.
Nothing has changed about the model's construction. It keeps its standard smooth suede uppers, cushy interior, and, of course, the extra-thick cushioned soles. Now, it's wrapped in a fall-worthy brown color scheme.
New Balance introduced the Rover earlier this year while it was still chilly outside, which was perfect timing, honestly. The model brought New Balance's signature comfort and chunky dad-shoe look to a slip-on style. It also had a little Birkenstock and UGG flavor.
Even though it went viral worldwide, the Rover turned out to be another overseas-exclusive model like the New Balance Breeze Mary Jane and Breeze Flat shoes.
Still, that hasn't stopped the Rover from shining. As we speak, it's now preparing for another season rollout.
The brown pairs are now available on New Balance Korea's website for 139,000 won, or around $103 at current exchange rates.
