Nike Built a Genuinely Handsome Hiking Boot Out of Its Best Trail Runner
When life gives Nike lemons, it makes a handsome trail "boot" called the Zegama Hike.
It's based on the Nike Zegama, of course, and even keeps all the good things about the original trail running shoe. But the Hike is essentially a boot-style hybrid that's built to last even longer. It looks good while doing so, too.
Nike's ACG sneaker features a stretchy debris-blocking collar, mega-grippy Vibram bottoms, and chunky yet light soles cushioned with Zoom X technology (which is also used in Nike's best running shoes and skate models). Translation: it has plenty of survival skills.
The Zegama Hike has also received several good colorways to start its journey. It stomped into the scene in a bold neon "Life Lime" colorway in July and has since appeared in classic all-black and ACG-style options like "British Tan."
The latest pairs land in a "Cream II" scheme, resulting in a mostly off-white sneaker-boot with grayish brown accents. It's a very clean colorway for a model born to be dirtied up on the trails.
But hey, the dirt gives it more character.
And it's not the only ACG model looking almost too fly for the trails, either. This new era of All Conditions Gear has been especially stylish, ranging from COMME des GARÇONS-coded Air Max boots to luxurious Rufus slip-ons.
Nike's Zegama Hike is helping keeping the family close and fashionable. It's available in the "Cream II" colorway, which is now up for grabs on the brand's website for $190.
