Editor’s Notes: Step back Travis Scott – a new brown sneaker is stepping onto the scene courtesy of Matthew M. Williams.

Matthew Wiliams, the man at the helm of Givenchy and 1017 ALYX 9SM has a pretty mixed bag when it comes to his eye for footwear design. One moment he's being praised for hitting it out of the park with Givenchy's debut sneaker, and the next, he's creating "Grandma's gardening shoes."

If anything, this shows his footwear design versatility, which naturally sparks conversation and debate. The Nike Zoom MMW 4 is no different. When the collaborative sneaker debuted, opinions were split due to its futuristic, almost mechanical chunky build.

The shoe arrived as the next evolution of the chunky sneaker trend, taking it to the next level by playing with shapes and angles in a pretty aggressive fashion, not too dissimilar to the work of the Nike ISPA design team. Characterized by its Shox-inspired, Zoom Air-featuring sole, the sneakers pick-n-mix fabrication and fused parts make it a great canvas for experimenting with color.

Previous iterations included "Triple Black” and “Rust Factor,” while the recently teased colorway opts for a brown and black treatment. Teased via Matthew's Instagram, the pair looks appropriately tooled for fall and much in line with his signature dark aesthetics.
