Editor's Notes: What is it about Drake and Kanye and teasing a release for months on end? If you thought all of that ended with the album rollout battle of the century; Certified Loverboy vs. DONDA – think again.

All music aside, Drizzy has been teasing the release of his signature NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra sneakers for a hot minute. The sneaker, which has been touted online as something of a K-Swiss meets FILA hybrid, has been doing the rounds since 2020 through a strategic sprinkling of snapshots on Instagram and in music videos.

Although the official release of the Hot Step Air Terra in its debut "White Chrome" colorway that we've been accustomed to seeing online is seemingly imminent – the end of this month, supposedly – Drake has once again taken the opportunity to whet the appetite of fans.

What would Champagne Papi's answer to the Air Force 1 be without a blacked-out counterpart?

The reveal of a second colorway comes as no surprise at all. Through NOCTA, the artist has been steadily developing a street uniform all his own, and while "White Chrome" will do the job throughout Spring/Summer, a triple black version is essential for the harsher months.

Whether this second colorway will release alongside the OG, or if we'll have to endure another year and a half of not-so-candid shots of Drake doing rich people things before we're able to try our luck at copping a pair is yet to be seen.
