Editor’s Notes: Artist Peter Angelo Simon has documented the working processes of some of the most prolific and esteemed creators in recent history. Now, he's teamed up with publisher Reel Art Press and Patta to produce a capsule collection built around the incredible images he shot made of Muhammad Ali in his Hardcover book Muhammad Ali: Fighter's Heaven.
His photo essay was captured up close and unguarded on 33 rolls of film during the run-up to the “Rumble in the Jungle” in October 1974 over the course of two days. These images, only previously seen in the 2016 book, have been championed by Patta in the form of a four-piece capsule collection.
The collection features a t-shirt starring a series of shots of Ali warming up. The tee is offered in a black and a white colorway. The collection also includes a longsleeved black tee with an up-close shot of Ali seated, as well as a gray hooded sweater featuring the legendary boxer inside the ring.
Patta tapped Dutch boxing legend Arnold Vanderlyde to tease the collection ahead of the May 29 release.
