Highsnobiety

Ok fine, that headline is a bit of stretch. The recently announced (Runner) line of footwear by Raf Simons don 't just look like Chelsea boots. They are literally Chelsea boots. Except you know, with a sporty sole on the bottom—but not in the gross “are you sneakers? or are you boots?” kind of way.

Pretty much, the paneled details on the heels of these kicks look like they were made from lesser sneakers that were thrown into a Magic Bullet and made into a mouthguard for your soles. Not that there's anything wrong with that, after all — Simons only said the new line was “sportswear-influenced,” so it's not surprising for the Belgian designer who inspired a thousand Instagram usernames that begin with with “@A$AP” to give us Chelseas when we expected sneakers.

The collection consists of five models: SOLARIS, ANTEI, CYLON, ORION, and 2001, which — except for Solaris — sound like Steven Soderbergh films that don't exist yet. In addition to their Parisian runway debut, the label also went ahead and showed all five models on their Instagram. Take a look at them below:

Expect these to hit stores around August or September.
