Founded in 1965, Smith has had enough time to get some serious eyewear accolades under its belt. Inventing the first snow goggle with a sealed thermal lens? Smith did that. Nowadays, the brand is an industry leader when it comes to performance eyewear, and if you’ve got any interest in style, you’ll have seen the meteoric rise of performance eyewear in contemporary style over the past few years.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of Smith’s latest release is that although it might look like one of the sleekest, most futuristic pairs of sunglasses on the market, it actually dates back to 1983.

The Smith XC features a flip-up four-base spherical shield lens with classic heritage detailing. But beyond heritage styling, the new XC is reissued with modern upgrades like Evolve™ bio-based material for the frames and ChromaPop™ lens technology delivers enhanced color, clarity, and definitions.

As well as looking high-tech, the Smith XC Sunglasses feel high-tech, too. Extra comfort is provided by Megol nose pads for a no-slip grip while auto-lock hinges keep the frames open for easy one-hand on and off.

Depending on your lens choice, the new Smith XC Sunglasses range in price from $169 to $179 and are available now from Smith Optics.
