Brand: Sneakersnstuff x Nike

Model: Air Max Tailwind 4

Key Features: Taken from an unreleased prototype colorway of the original Nike Air Tailwind in 1979, Sneakersnstuff’s exclusive Air Max Tailwind 4 colorway features a yellow and blue upper with a white base. Ribbed side panels give the model a techy, retro sportswear vibe that the full-length Max Air sole unit, borrowed from the Nike Air Max Plus, also plays into. Additional details include special “20th Anniversary” branding on the tongue of the left shoe, a well as a numbered heel, suggesting that this release is strictly limited to 1999 pairs.

Release Date: September 19

Price: $150 / €170

Buy: Exclusively at Sneakersnstuff

Editor’s Notes: Both Nike’s Air Max Tailwind 4 and Sneakersnstuff are celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, so it makes sense that the retailer will exclusively release a special-edition version of the sneaker later this month. Somewhat obviously dubbed “20th Anniversary,” the sneaker’s colorway takes inspiration from an unreleased prototype colorway of the original ’79 Nike Air Tailwind. That colorway will now see the light of day, albeit on the recently-relaunched Air Max Tailwind 4.
