The official Instagram page for The Boondocks reboot has started to share fresh character designs, upping the hype for the return of the animated series.

The new artworks highlight key characters Huey and Robert Freeman, both of whom are sporting sweet new ’fits. Huey, the older Freeman brother, has been leveled up with a new windbreaker jacket, camo pants, and military boots. Take a look below.

Back in March, the voice of Granddad, comedian John Witherspoon, revealed on The Joe Rogan Experience that the show is coming back. Prior to, Aaron McGruder addressed the state of America through a Boondocks comic strip, which wound up on social media.

Reimagined for the modern era, Sony's The Boondocks reboot is helmed by series creator Aaron McGruder. Based on the comic of the same name, the show aired on Adult Swim from 2005 to 2014. Per the announcement, the new version pits the Freeman family against local government tyrant Uncle Ruckus.
