The North Face has a cure for brain rot: You need to go touch grass. If you’re suffering from Instagram ills, toxic TikToking, and repetitive scroll syndrome, then the brand’s new campaign serves as a much needed reminder to break away from your "screen is life" mentality and get the hell outdoors. Stat.

Naturally, that also means owning the appropriate gear. As The North Face’s Touch Grass campaign (co-created by Highsnobiety and Zalando, and starring Berlin DJ LOVEFOXY) shows, nobody is surviving the wilds in stilettos. Not successfully, at least. Rather, you need footwear that’s optimized for wandering, that’ll take you swiftly from the city streets to the trail. Shoes that give great comfort, durability, traction, and look effortlessly stylish anywhere.

The Glenclyffe Low Shoes are a perfect example of what that looks like in practice. They take their performance cues from The North Face’s more advanced outdoor collections (the Summit Series, for example) but adapt them for daily stomps on a range of terrains. They feature abrasion-resistant uppers; a Vibram XS Trek rubber outsole for optimal traction and durability on a range of terrains; an EVA foam midsole, a toe guard and reinforced heel; and a stretch ankle construction, which gives a sock-like fit. These qualities all work together to deliver a shoe that feels great, looks great, and perhaps most importantly, does the hard work for you so you can offline mode in peace.

And to prove it, we sent a number of intrepid wanderers into the wild and asked them to document their antics. From matcha ceremonies and WFH (Work From Heathland) to make-up tutorials, noodle flexing, and a step-by-step brain-rot-beating exercise guide, Kiwi, Alina Kossan, Lara Bußmann, and David Atum show us there's a myriad of avant-garde ways to touch grass. Getting outside doesn't have to mean compromising good content, clearly.

The Glenclyffe Lows come in a range of colorways, so there's an option for every fit. There’s also an “Urban” version, which features a slick suede upper if you’re looking for something more luxe, and a boot version if you can see yourself embarking on more full-on forays.

There are two other series in The North Face’s footwear offering that channel that also make for great lifestyle x outdoor crossovers. The Clyffe series, for example, features durable sneaker-style silhouettes with a Vibram outsole that gives great grip on slippy surfaces. There’s the sturdy, weather-resistant Hedgehog 06 RVST GORE-TEX shoe, which sits somewhere between a trail runner and a hiking shoe. And, last but not least, the Nuptse Traction Chukka, which is essentially the brand’s iconic quilted, 700 down fill puffer jacket in shoe form. Think of it as a warm winter hug for your feet.
