Vans & Sza Want To Get All Up In Your Toes
SZA and Vans want to get all up in your toes. And if you're a tabi lover, you'll be all over this.
The Vansza LX Tabi Hiker is a foot-hugging trail shoe with a tabi toe design that brings the most divisive trend of the moment to the forefront of SZA's immersive Vans universe that fuses terrestrial exploration with functional forwardness.
These are two key tenets of SZA's burgeoning design ethos, which she explained in a press release.
"This collection is really a reflection of how I live and what inspires me every day. I wanted to create pieces that feel comfortable, functional, and expressive, whether you're on a trail, in the city or discovering something new about yourself. Working with Vans gave me the freedom to explore ideas rooted in creativity, curiosity and play, and my hope is that people feel inspired to step outside their comfort zone."
In addition to the cleft-toe sneaker, the Vansza's orbit of sneakers includes SZA-ified renditions of the Knu Skool Mule, Authentic Kickdown, and standard Knu Skool.
It's only been a year since SZA officially got her interdisciplinary freak on as Vans' Artistic Director and showed us all that her penchant for dirty shoes extends far beyond her moody trap-soul melodies.
She lives this life for real. To be fair, the Vansza LX Tabi Hiker isn't so much dirty as it is freaky, though there is a lot of overlap between the two.
