Vans’ Waterproof Skate Shoe Stays Fresh When Wet
We saw the vision when Vans transformed the Half Cab into a stylish Vibram-soled boot. Now, the model's back, living out its rugged dreams as a rain boot.
To be clear, Vans didn't exactly turn the Half Cab into a rain boot (although that would be pretty cool). But the brand's treating the skate shoe like one, adding GORE-TEX waterproofing to keep out precipitation.
What's more, the Half Cab looks good in its GORE-TEX coat. The latest version comes in a nice tonal light grey color scheme, which, by the way, will look just as fresh on inclement weather days.
The Half Cab badges are posted throughout, alongside plentiful GORE-TEX logos, which admittedly makes the model look more rugged and ultimately cooler than others. It also features a suede-and-canvas upper, paired with thick All-Trac soles that provide reliable grip across different surfaces.
Vans has dished out other nice waterproof Half Cabs this season, alongside winterized Crosspath XC and SK8 Hi models. And the other colorways were nice, but this light grey pair is the cleanest in the lineup.
It's now available on Premier's website for $180.
