Following the release of The Witcher on Netflix this month, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt RPG has enjoyed an unprecedented bump in its player count.

In fact, more people are playing the game now than when it launched in 2015. According to PC Gamer, it's currently breaking its own record of 92,000 by several thousand players.

At the time of the report, 94,000 people were playing the game. Interestingly, the two previous titles in the series are both also rankings in the top 100 games by player count on Steam. The Witcher: Enhanced Edition was at 12,100 and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings at 6,600, according to the report.

As PC Gamer points out, most hyped games rarely reach their launch day concurrent player counts. But the interest generated by the Netflix series has evidently revived enthusiasm for the fantasy RPG.
