While recently in Vancouver, Vince Staples was subject to the always-entertaining Nardwuar treatment. As is customary, the Human Serviette showered his guest with gifts, all while discussing rather unusual connections throughout Vince’s life and career.

The standout story from the interview came when Staples dished on peeing his pants while in a wave pool as a child, and having to be rescued by a lifeguard. He went on to detail that what kept him pushing to survive was having Ja Rule and Ashanti’s “Always on Time” playing in his head.

To hear Vince recount that rather humorous occurrence, as well as speak on No I.D., Joy Division’s “Love Will Tear Us Apart,” and Microsoft Encarta, press play above.
