From the ground up

Co-founder and chairman emeritus of Nike, Inc., Phil Knight recently appeared on the second episode of season three of Bloomberg TV’s The David Rubenstein Show. During his appearance, Knight discussed the origins of Nike, endorsement deals with Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and John McEnroe, his philanthropic goals, and more.

Knight insists — and rightfully so — that Nike is his work of art. He also prefaced by disclosing that the Swoosh design originally cost just $35 USD.

Phil then mentioned that no one could have foreseen Nike’s unmatched success, as the company has long since turned into a multi-billion-dollar empire.
