2 Moncler 1952

Brand: 2 Moncler 1952 Woman

Season: Fall/Winter 2021

Buy: Moncler's website and stores

Editor's Notes: The humble puffer never looked so good. 2 Moncler 1952 Woman, the Moncler Genius sub-label helmed by CELINE alum Veronica Leoni, just debuted some of the sexiest winter wear we've ever seen.

Most notably, Leoni transforms the full-length puffer into a flattering dress, complete with princess seams and a collar-to-waist zipper that leaves the bottom half of the coat free to flare out into a subtle A-line "skirt."

There are more versatile options, too. A down-filled jacket made of shiny black nylon is accented with silver grommets, detailing that adds attitude to an otherwise functional garment. Elsewhere, a cropped puffer featuring textured, teddy bear-like paneling would look at home on the slopes or at the office.

Leoni also offers a selection of women's separates inspired by Moncler's cold-weather roots, a worthy counterpart to her counterpart's menswear lineup. Knitwear arrives as body-hugging skirts, shawl-collar jumpers and cardigan dresses. Sportier pieces — namely, a T-shirt and hoodie printed with Muppets bundled in Moncler — add an unexpected dash of humor to the collection.

Accessories pack a punch as well. A puffer scarf is blown up to oversized proportions and belted at the waist. A quilted nylon hat is outfitted with ostrich feathers around the brim. There's also a puffer handbag, complete with a leather top handle and silver clasp, and clog-like boots with wooden platform soles.

Leoni riffs on Moncler's hero garment — the puffer jacket — with aplomb, offering more than just a luxe take on a winter essential. The designer's voice shines through in each piece, transforming the utilitarian puffer into a garment customers will want to keep on, inside and out.
