Converse's Slick Chuck Taylor Cook Shoes Are Here to Serve
The Converse Chuck Taylor has gone from the basketball court to the streets to even the skate ramps. Next, it's coming for the kitchen.
That's right, Converse has designed Chuck Taylors for chefs. The brand has actually cooked up an all-new collection of workplace shoes aptly called At Your Service. It features remastered Chuck Taylors with non-slip rubber outsoles, water-repellent canvas uppers, and CX cushioning.
If Converse added in Nike Air and other high-end materials, it would be the finest First String chef shoe to date. But this ain't First String (this time).
The collection includes not only the classic Chuck Taylor but also low-top and slip-on versions. All come in the standard kitchen-approved colorway: black.
It's a genuinely cool Converse shoe balancing durability and style. I'm not even a chef, and I low-key want a pair for everyday. I'll let the service industry workers have this one, though. After all their hard work over the years, they deserve a sneaker that looks as good as it functions.
That pretty much sums up work shoes right now. They're stylish and get the job done (and pass industry standards). Crocs has its cool Bistro sneaker, and Birkenstock has also dished out some admittedly nice-looking shoes for chefs.
Basically, brands are serving up great-looking cook shoes right now. Converse just added another to the growing collection.
Lucky for fans, the At Your Service collection is now available on Converse's website, ranging from $75 to $85.
