Editor’s Notes: Acne Studios has tapped multidisciplinary artist Grace Ahlbom to highlight its latest sneaker range for Fall/Winter 2018 in an exclusive campaign, particularly featuring the brand’s Manhattan silhouette, which takes cues from ’90s American urban sportswear.

As pointed out in an interview with i-D, the campaign above showcases Ahlbom breaking a pair of Manhattans throughout her favorite NYC locations, such as the location of Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing, and the East Village’s iconic Tompkins Square Park.

The nostalgic clip with a neon-soaked collage of BMXing, basketball hoops, and scaling schoolyard fences is an ode to the reckless spirit of ’80s and ’90s MTV.
