Every now and then something drops that really gets my ticker going. Whether it’s stunning imagery, a breathtaking narrative, or a simply dead nice coat, they’re few and far between, but when they hit, they hit.

Stockholm-based Acne Studios is the latest name to have enrolled itself into my ever-growing Things That Get My Ticker Going book, with its new project in partnership with photographer Ronan Mckenzie.

Teaming up for Fall/Winter 2022, Acne and Mckenzie last week opened the doors to an exhibition at HOME, a multidisciplinary gallery space founded by the photographer in north London back in 2020.

The exhibition – which will be accompanied by a limited-edition publication available exclusively at HOME and at the denim floor of Acne Studios Dover Street, London – features images captured in Barbados, the birthplace of Mckenzie’s mother.

The project manifests over several chapters: a fashion story styled by Tess Herbert and modeled by local talent; a documentary film titled All Comes Neatly Everywhere, featuring Mckenzie’s mother; and a self-shot video featuring Mckenzie herself.

Of course, the images also feature Acne Studios’ new FW22 denim range (which is available online now), following the recent release of its trippy distortion bags earlier this month.

This denim collection also comes fresh off the back of the release of its full mainline FW22 collection shot by Harley Weir which saw the label head to La Maison Sculptée to spotlight its myriad of leather jackets and patchwork pieces.
