adidas and Pixar have teamed up on a collection of Monsters, Inc.-inspired wares, a testament to the animated film's endurance — and how far from god Disney adults will stray.

Celebrating the animated flick's 20th anniversary, adidas transforms Pixar's most lovable monsters into... fuzzy sneakers.

There's a Mike Wazowski D.O.N. Issue #3, rendered in throbbing lime green. A large eyeball, a reference to Wazowski's singular eye, is printed on the tongue. (If that isn't enough for you, the phrase "YOU AND I ARE A TEAM" is spelled out on elastic straps across the shoe's vamp)

The Dame 7 isn't spared either. A nod to Mike's best pal, Sully, the sneaker is updated with an electric blue and purple upper that pairs mesh paneling with hits of faux fur at the tongue and heel.

Perhaps the collaboration's most palatable shoe, the Forum Low is rendered in safety orange — an homage to George Sanderson — accented with a fuzzy version of adidas' Three Stripes at the lateral.

As delightful as Monsters, Inc. is, I'm not entirely sure who will be purchasing this collaboration when its two halves drop on September 25 and October 7 via adidas' website. Disney adults, presumably, but anyone else?

The apparel kind of makes sense. As offensively bright as they are, a Sully-colored hoodie and Mike Wazowski tee — which reads, "It's laughter we're after!" — are objectively funny. Even the neon green Mike Wazowski basketball (which looks far too much like the character's decapitated head) is a somewhat sane offering amid the trying and uncertain era we're living in.

However, as I reflect on adidas' selection of Monsters, Inc. sneakers, I am immediately reminded of Mr. Wazowski's seminal hit, "Put That Thing Back Where It Came From, Or So Help Me!" As the ditty goes: Get that thing away from me, you guys / Put that thing back where it came from / Or I'll poke myself in the eyes.
