What We’re Saying: The adidas Ultraboost DNA CC_1 is a hybrid that fuses two of the brand’s most beloved technologies: Boost and Clima Cool. Clima Cool sneakers were huge in the ’00s, as they offered an extremely breathable big-hole mesh upper in addition to air vents on the sides,

On this hybrid sneaker, the air vents are present where the Ultraboost’s lace cage would normally be, while the Ultraboost’s Primeknit upper is replaced with a Clima Cool knitted upper. Clima Cool branding is also seen on the tongue.

In addition to making one of its most comfortable shoes even more breathable — which comes just in time for summer — adidas has used Primeblue yarn on the upper, which is made in part with Parley ocean plastic. About 50 percent of the upper is made of textile, of which 75 percent is Primeblue.
