Editor’s Notes: After several of Aimé Leon Dore's New Balance 550 drops, including April and October 2021 releases, you assume ALD fatigue would plague the sneaker community.

But, somehow, the brand's next collaborative 550 rollout is no less hyped than the very first drop.

If you took away the Aimé Leon Dore logo, you might think the newest set of collaborative NB550s was a general release, which speaks to the timelessness of the design or the straightforwardness of the collab (or both).

Unlike previous drops, which featured double-color combos like red/navy and green/yellow, creative director Teddy Santis keeps ALD's latest NB sneakers even more straightforward than usual, opting for singular color palettes free from noise.

Specifically, chocolate brown, deep purple, and dark olive colorways inform Aimé Leon Dore's Spring/Summer 2022 P550 colorways.

The colorways serve as the only changes to ALD's 550s and the model does its usual business otherwise: you've got that familiar aged look throughout, with a mesh-leather upper matched to the co-branded tongue.

But, honestly, the new muted ALD 550 colorways make sense. It's all part of Aimé Leon Dore's plans, or minimalistic aesthetic, that is.

The latest New Balance collab is only available via Aimé Leon Dore's web store via raffle, hopefully giving all fans a chance at the much-hyped kicks.
