Editor’s Notes: Aimé Leon Dore is gearing up for yet another collaborative release with New Balance. This time around, the New York-based brand has worked on a seemingly forgotten silhouette in the P550 Basketball Oxford.

ALD founder Teddy Santis took to Instagram earlier this week to debut the upcoming collab, and since, the brand has shared official imagery and a coinciding release date of October 9. As Santis points out, the New Balance P550 is mysterious in the sense that after its debut in 1989, it has remained virtually untouched, and there is little background information on the sneaker.

"Took us a couple years and a lot of work to bring this shoe back," he said on social media. "Everything about the 550’s and what they represented felt like this would be the perfect romance to activate SONNY and the ALD grassroots basketball program."

The Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance P550 Basketball Oxford appears in four colorways. While the sneaker's release date has been announced, it remains to be seen where it will be available and for how much. As always, however, be sure to check back with us for additional details.
