Want more community from Aimé Leon Dore? How 'bout some cash? How 'bout both? On June 10, 2023, Aimé Leon Dore and New Balance are bringing together the best ballers in the ALD community to compete for $20,000 in a basketball tournament.

ALD and New Balance's 3x3 Mulberry Classic Tournament, as it's called (despite not taking place near Aimé Leon Dore's flagship), is open to the public at 115 E Houston St and will pit teams of three against each other in single elimination bouts.

It's that $20k in prize money for the winning team that really ought to bring everyone running, though. Or, perhaps, hooping is a better word for it.

Lace up your Aimé Leon Dore New Balance 550s (they don't call 'em "Basketball Oxfords" for nothin') and grab your jerseys from the ALD SS23 collection: it's time to ball.

With all that prize money, you could actually afford to buy one of the ultra rare Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance TWO WXY 3 sneakers, if you can actually find any pairs.

Basketball is core to the Aimé Leon Dore ethos, after all. The aforementioned New Balance 550 sneakers that're now inextricable from ALD's legacy were initially ideated as basketball shoes, yes, but ALD takes ample inspiration from retro basketball culture.

Consider ALD's sought-after not-Jordan sweater and the sportswear that permeates its seasonal collections.

Not to mention the SONNY collection, a dedicated Aimé Leon Dore line that dovetails with the brand's involvement in the Masayrk Community Gym.

Yep, for Aimé Leon Dore too, ball is life.

And, if you're one of the top players in ALD and New Balance's 3x3 Mulberry Classic Tournament, it'll be making a major impact on your life, too.
