For Facts’ Sake: ARMEDANGELS and Wikipedia Team Up
When a random question pops into your head, what’s the first thing you do? For most of us the drill’s the same: Open browser. Type it in. Click that familiar Wikipedia link and you’re done. Now, our one reliable source is here to feed our wardrobe together with ARMEDANGELS, just as much as they’ve been feeding our brains.
Teaming up with the Wikimedia Foundation (the non-profit organization that operates Wikipedia) ARMEDANGELS celebrates the world’s most powerful tool: free and accessible knowledge. That celebration takes the form of a limited capsule collection, made from 100% recycled cotton and decked out in Wikipedia’s classic logos. Each of these items are a reminder that our OOTD’s can stand for something bigger: access, impact, and the power of sharing knowledge. In a world where so much gets drowned out by fake news and misinformation, ARMEDANGLES and Wikipedia are in pursuit of the one value that connects them: the truth.
Home to over 6 million articles in English alone, Wikipedia is one of the most widely used sources of information on the internet, powered by volunteer editors who fact-check and curate its content. And to keep the world’s favorite knowledge hub running, it needs funding. A portion of the proceeds from the ARMEDANGELS x Wikipedia collection will go directly to supporting Wikipedia. That means every hoodie, tee, cap or sock you pick up will directly impact some struggling student’s late-night homework, or help settle a heated dinner table debate.
The ARMEDANGELS x Wikipedia collection is available now at armedangels.com or in-store at Kastner & Öhler in Graz, and Ludwig Beck in Munich.
